LIPÉ: sustainable swimwear, designed in Cape Town since 2017
LIPÉ is a yearly summer capsule of modern, body-sculpting swimwear, inspired by design that embodies confidence, and is made for South African summers.
Every piece is crafted from either a recycled eco blend print fabric or REPREVE® fabric blended with spandex. REPREVE® offers built-in UPF sun protection, chlorine resistance and body-temperature regulation, with stretch and recovery that holds its shape. Our patterns are extensively tried and tested, so every style is timeless, made to last and thoughtfully priced.
LIPÉ began with a journey. It was conceptualised in Saigon, Vietnam, in 2014, then sampled and tested in Bali, Indonesia, before coming home to Cape Town in 2017 to begin production. Every pattern and design is still created in Cape Town today, and since 2024 our pieces have been made in Guangzhou, China.
Each capsule is produced in small batches and restocked two to three times a year, and every order is dispatched from our Cape Town warehouse.
The LIPÉ fit
Our styles are sculpted and tend to fit slightly smaller than mainstream brands, so please check the fit guide before you order. Many product pages also say what size the model is wearing.
Delivery, returns and pop-ups
- Delivery within South Africa usually takes 2 to 5 working days, depending on the courier.
- Returns and exchanges within South Africa cost R89 for the return courier. If you exchange for another size, we pay to send the new piece. The details are in our refund policy.
