Care and Wash Instructions for Repreve Swimwear
To ensure the longevity and performance of your LIPÉ Swimwear, please follow these care instructions. Our swimwear is made from Repreve fabric, a sustainable material crafted from recycled fibers. Proper care will help maintain the quality, shape, and color of your garment for years to come.
1. Rinse Immediately After Use
- After swimming in chlorinated or saltwater, rinse your swimwear with fresh water as soon as possible to remove chlorine, salt, and other impurities. This will help protect the fabric and prevent any potential damage.
2. Hand Wash Only
- Hand wash your swimwear in cold water (below 30°C/86°F) with a mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or fabric softeners, as they may degrade the fabric and affect its elasticity.
- Gently lather and avoid wringing or twisting the fabric. This will help preserve the shape and structure of the swimwear.
3. Avoid Machine Washing and Drying
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry your swimwear. The heat from machines can damage the fabric, cause it to lose its shape, and affect the longevity of the garment.
- If machine washing is unavoidable, use a gentle cycle in a mesh laundry bag, and be sure to set the machine to a cold water setting.
4. Dry Flat
- Lay your swimwear flat to dry, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not wring or hang the garment, as this can distort the fabric and its fit.
- Avoid hanging your swimwear on hooks or wires, as this can stretch the straps or alter the shape of the garment.
5. Avoid Rough Surfaces
- Be cautious around rough or abrasive surfaces such as poolside tiles, concrete, or metal. These can cause snags or pulls in the fabric.
6. Store Properly
- When not in use, store your swimwear in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving it in hot or damp areas, such as gym bags or car trunks, to prevent any deterioration of the fabric.
- If possible, store your swimwear away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
7. Avoid Contact with Sunscreen, Oils, and Lotions
- Sunscreen, tanning oils, and lotions can cause staining and fabric degradation. Be sure to apply these products before putting on your swimwear, and wash the garment promptly after use.
8. Spot Clean When Necessary
- For minor stains, spot clean the affected area with a mild soap and cold water. Avoid scrubbing or using harsh chemicals, as this may damage the fabric.
